The "Super Cub" series achieves 100 million cumulative units produced worldwide.

Honda's "Super Cub" series has achieved a global cumulative production of 100 million units this month.

Mass production of the first-generation "Super Cub C100" began in August 1958 at the Yamato Factory (formerly the Saitama Factory's Wako Plant). Subsequently, in line with the corporate philosophy of "producing where there is demand," knockdown production started in Taiwan in 1961.

Currently, it is produced at 16 bases in 15 countries worldwide.

While two-stroke engines were mainstream at the time, the first-generation "Super Cub C100" was equipped with a revolutionary, high-performance 50cc four-stroke engine that excelled in economy and durability. It also featured an innovative and novel design, including a low-floor backbone frame that made mounting and dismounting easy, and an automatic centrifugal clutch system that eliminated the need for clutch operation.

Furthermore, in 2007, it evolved to incorporate an electronic fuel injection system (PGM-FI) to enhance environmental performance. While evolving, its fundamental concept remains unchanged, and its unique style continues to be passed down to the present day.

To commemorate the cumulative production of 100 million units, a commemorative ceremony was recently held at the Kumamoto Factory, its production facility.

With Kumamoto Prefecture Governor Ikio Kamashima in attendance, Honda's President and Representative Director, Takahiro Hachigo, shared his thoughts as follows:

"The Super Cub, born in Japan, has embodied Honda's aspiration to 'provide joy that expands life's possibilities to everyone' by responding to customer needs. This has earned us long-standing support across the globe, enabling us to achieve the cumulative production of 100 million Super Cub series units worldwide. We will continue to evolve with the times and strive to deliver products that exceed our customers' expectations."
