Yamaha to Rent 30 E-Vino Units: Saitama City and Two Others Launch Demonstration Project for Electric Mopeds

Saitama City, Honda, and Yamaha will launch a demonstration project in September to expand the use of electric motorcycles and address transportation gaps, as part of Saitama City's electric vehicle promotion initiative, the "E-KIZUNA Project."

This is the first initiative of its kind, undertaken by a local government aiming for a low-carbon society where electric vehicles can be used safely and comfortably, and by two motorcycle manufacturers seeking to popularize EV bikes.

This marks a significant step towards reducing CO2 emissions and promoting the adoption of EV bikes.

During the experiment, 30 Yamaha E-Vino units will be available for rent at the East Exit Bicycle Parking Lot of Saitama-Shintoshin Station, along with a battery exchange service.

Saitama City aims to realize a low-carbon society where diverse electric mobility options can be used safely and comfortably, by leveraging not only the electric four-wheeled vehicles it has promoted thus far, but also by utilizing EV bikes.
