Star Chef David Thompson Appointed Executive Chef

The "Aqua Mekong" is the third luxury vessel from Aqua Expeditions, which also operates two luxury ships on the Amazon. Like its sister ship, the "Aqua Amazon," it is a small luxury vessel designed for comfort, yet it offers spacious and opulent accommodations.



The design was handled by "NOAH DESIGN," an architectural group based in Saigon. The 62.4-meter-long ship features 20 suites with exterior views, each with floor-to-ceiling windows offering ample opportunities to admire the passing Mekong River scenery. The interior design extensively incorporates Indochina influences, creating an Asian-inspired ambiance. Additionally, the ship is fully equipped with an observation deck, spa, fitness center, library, and screening room.



The cuisine is overseen by star chef David Thompson, renowned for his work at "Nahm" in Bangkok, which was named "Asia's Best Restaurant." Chef Thompson, celebrated for his Southeast Asian-inspired dishes, will create a special menu that combines the culinary traditions of the Mekong River basin with fresh, local ingredients. The bar, curated by the award-winning "Blue Rhum & Co.," reflects the rich flavors, colors, and culture of the Mekong region.



Excursions include themes such as "A Cambodian Wet Market with the Chef" and "Visiting Traditional Silver Artisans," as well as opportunities to visit riverside farms in Vietnam and encounter snakes and crocodiles.



The "Aqua Mekong" offers seasoned travelers an authentic Mekong experience in luxurious style. The timeless flow of the Mekong River evokes an exotic sense of wanderlust.
