HOSOO RESIDENCE, an accommodation where you can experience the world of HOSOO, has opened in Kyoto's Karasuma Oike area. Located in the Gosho Minami area, a quiet part of Kyoto's old city, it offers proximity to numerous restaurants, cafes, and bars, while Nijo Castle and the Kyoto Imperial Palace are within a 5-minute walk. It's a location where convenience and history coexist.

Nestled at the end of a narrow lane, HOSOO RESIDENCE is a traditional Kyoto townhouse, built before the war, that has been fully renovated. While the exterior adheres to traditional townhouse design, the interior features earthen walls made from three different types of soil from the Kyoto region. These walls are finished using the 'hanchiku' plastering technique, showcasing the beautiful natural colors of the land.


The bedroom is a serene space where the earthen walls gently diffuse light. The beds feature bedding from Iwata, a Kyoto-based company that has been crafting bedding for over 180 years. The bathroom, custom-made using black lime plaster and polished aggregate techniques, overlooks a minimalist garden composed solely of white gravel.

The in-room audio speakers are one-of-a-kind units born from a collaboration with Technics. Their surfaces are clad in HOSOO's textiles, designed to harmonize with the Japanese aesthetic of the space.

Another notable feature is its exclusivity: limited to one group (two adults) per day. At HOSOO RESIDENCE, you can fully savor both the tradition and beauty that Kyoto embodies.
