Relax Body and Soul in a Mystical Ice World Away From Everyday Life
Shimukappu Village, where Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU is located, is a region that experiences temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius in January and February. Taking advantage of the cold that prevents ice from melting, an "Ice Hotel" in the shape of a dome, approximately 8.5 meters in diameter and 3.5 meters high, is constructed from a single piece of ice, offering an overnight stay experience in an enchanting world surrounded by ice.
The walls and ceiling of this hotel are crafted from a seamless single sheet of ice, and even the beds, chairs, and tables are all made of ice. The interior, built with thick ice, offers excellent sound insulation, allowing for a tranquil night's sleep. Cold-weather sleeping bags are provided, ensuring a warm and comfortable sleep until morning, offering an extraordinary experience in a magical space.
The "Ice Open-Air Bath" features hot spring water drawn from Shimukappu Village's Yunusawa Onsen. This sodium, calcium chloride cold mineral spring water gently warms the body from the core, easing the chill of the cold and inviting a comfortable sleep. The open-air bath, surrounded by ice, is situated to overlook the birch forest. Soaking while feeling the clear winter starry sky and the stillness of the birch forest will be a special experience, healing both mind and body away from the everyday.
After warming up in the open-air bath, guests can wear the exclusive room wear for "Ice Hotel" guests and enjoy drinks at the "Ice Relaxation Lounge." A selection of beverages, including tea, milk, and whiskey, are available to warm the body from the inside. Guests can savor the enchanting ice world while relaxing on an ice lounge chair with their chosen drink, enjoying the pleasant post-bath feeling.
