MADWORLD HONG KONG LIMITED (MADworld), backed by leading Web3 company Animoca Brands based in Hong Kong, has formed a strategic partnership with Globe Entertainment & Media Corporation (Globe Photos), a major stock photo agency.
The company also announced the launch of its first official campaign, "Legends of Rock," starting May 18.
First Official Campaign: "Legends of Rock"
This campaign is a project utilizing vintage photographs, offering slide NFTs featuring unreleased images of legendary artists such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Queen. (Hereinafter referred to as "Photo Slide NFTs")
A game utilizing the acquired Photo Slide NFTs is also planned for implementation, with gameplay commencing on May 18 (Thursday).
How to Acquire Photo Slide NFTs
First, create an account to participate in the game.
Then, by participating in "Rockbox," there is a 1% chance of acquiring a Photo Slide NFT featuring unreleased photos. The right to obtain the physical positive film is granted simultaneously.
To participate in Rockbox, you need to purchase "Game Cards" within the game. The prices are $10 USD per card, $140 USD for a set of 20 cards, and $300 USD for a set of 150 cards.
If you play Rockbox and do not acquire a Photo Slide NFT, you will instead receive a Community Pass NFT. Each time you receive one, your Community Pass NFT level increases, eventually raising the probability of acquiring a Photo Slide NFT to 5%.
Rockbox also features a "guaranteed win" function, where reaching 100 plays ensures the acquisition of one Photo Slide NFT.
The photos available this time consist of 1,000 original, unreleased images from Globe Photos' archives, and they come with authentication from Globe Photos.
Physical Item Auction Held Concurrently
To commemorate the launch of "Legends of Rock," an auction for positive films was also held on April 19 (Wednesday). Ten works were exhibited, with the highest bid reaching 1.1 million yen.
This auction, "LEGENDS OF ROCK AUCTION 2023," was held in collaboration with Shinwa Auction Co., Ltd., Japan's only listed auction company. Ten selected positive films from artists like Led Zeppelin, Queen, and The Beatles were exhibited, with bidding conducted both online and in person.

Chris Pepler Discusses "Legends of Rock"
Chris Pepler, who is supporting "Legends of Rock," has interviewed Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones, and has been involved in the domestic and international rock scene as a bassist for over 20 years.
We interviewed Mr. Pepler to hear about the appeal of "Legends of Rock."
──── What are your candid thoughts on this project?
While Web3 and NFTs are gaining traction in Japan, there's a sense that the country is still observing from the sidelines compared to other nations. In this context, owning physical items through "Legends of Rock" is very straightforward and could serve as an entry point for those unfamiliar with NFTs.
Furthermore, just as "Vinyl" represents 20th-century cultural heritage, the value of film from that era, after a century, is limited to very few items that endure. Attaching NFTs to such finite assets seems highly logical.
──── What do you believe is the significance and value of owning NFTs of legendary rock stars' photos?
"Legends of Rock" allows for the collection of both 20th-century physical "one-of-a-kind" unreleased photographs and digital assets, offering a unique joy and pleasure.
I believe the value of records will continue to rise, and the rarity of unique physical items will also increase. "Legends of Rock" offers value not just as a collectible for enjoyment, but also as an asset.
Holding these rare, unreleased photographs feels like capturing a moment in time, embodying the atmosphere, sensibility, and spirit of the 60s and 70s that will never return.
In that sense, I believe they also hold immense historical value.
──── Please share a message for music fans through this project.
I believe "Legends of Rock" will further popularize NFTs, and the fusion of classic rock with cutting-edge digital assets holds exciting potential.
There are hints of enjoyment in value and asset management within Web3, so I hope people will pay attention to "Legends of Rock" from various perspectives.
