Music producer, selector, composer, writer, and radio DJ. His release "ECLIPSE" under the name KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE was the first by a Japanese artist to reach No. 1 for three consecutive weeks on the BBC Radio ZUBB chart. His books include "DJ Senkyokujutsu" (DJ Selection Techniques) and "Club Jazz Nyumon" (Introduction to Club Jazz), as well as his autobiography "Shokugyo, DJ, 25-nen" (Occupation, DJ, 25 Years). In November 2013, he held his first illustration exhibition at the Barnaby's New York Shinjuku store. In June 2017, he released the second album "UNITY" of his jazz project, Kyoto Jazz Sextet, on Blue Note. In the same year, he performed on the Field Of Heven stage at the Fuji Rock Festival. He is also the producer of The Room (Shibuya), which boasts an attendance of one million people over its 26 years of operation. He currently hosts the program "JAZZ ain’t Jazz" on InterFM (Sundays at 4 PM). He supervises "Shuya Okino presents Music in The Room" on the I-12 channel of wired broadcasting. He is an official blogger for GQ Japan.

DJ and producer. Born July 6, 1966, in Kyoto. In 1995, his solo project Fantastic Plastic Machine (FPM) song "Jet Engine House" was included on the Pizzicato Five album "Romantic '96," marking his major debut. Since releasing his first album "The Fantastic Plastic Machine" in 1997, he has released a total of eight original albums, remix albums, and best-of albums. He has also produced numerous songs for other artists and worked as a remixer for over 100 tracks, including those by FATBOYSLIM, Tomoyasu Hotei, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, UNICORN, Quruli, and Sakanaction. In collaborations with visual media, he has provided music for the American film "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" and "Sex and the City," as well as composed music for Takashi Murakami's short animation for Louis Vuitton and for UNIQLOCK, the UNIQLO web content that won Grand Prix awards at the world's three major advertising festivals. As a DJ, he has performed at major festivals not only in Japan but also internationally, including the Coachella Festival in the US and the Reading Festival in the UK. His DJ style, backed by extensive musical knowledge and sensibility, has earned him immense trust not only in clubs but also in various other fields, such as DJing at parties for numerous fashion brands. His activities extend beyond music to include a deep understanding of food, fashion, watches, cars, art, and literature. He is particularly known as a collector and enthusiast of vintage clothing. Leveraging his experience as a magazine editor, he has contributed numerous columns, including "Zuiso" for the Kobe Shimbun, and articles for various magazines. In recent years, he composed the music for the KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre production "Hitachi-bo Kaison" (directed by Keishi Nagatsuka). He also oversees the music for "Paradise Lounge," a music bar on the 46th floor of the Shibuya Scramble Square observation deck "SHIBUYA SKY," and for "Sarutahiko Coffee The Bridge," which opened on the second floor of the new JR Harajuku Station building.

Began his music career as a student at Tama Art University, focusing on sampling. Around the fall of 2018, he suddenly became passionate about painting. Since then, he has painted every day and held his first solo exhibition, "NEW FACE," at the kit gallery in Harajuku at the end of 2019, receiving high acclaim. He continues to create works in a unique style, working on composition and painting simultaneously.

DJ, selector, and producer. In 1990, he formed United Future Organization (U.F.O.). They released five full albums in 32 countries worldwide, receiving high acclaim. After going solo in 2002, he has continued to be active as a DJ at clubs and festivals both domestically and internationally. He also produces events and oversees music for fashion brands. In 2013, he launched HEX, a project that disseminates contemporary jazz, and released the album "HEX" on Blue Note Records. In the spring of 2018, he planned to release a worldwide album from his new project, Toshio Matsuura Group, featuring young British musicians. His programs "TOKYO MOON" on InterFM897 (Sundays at 5 PM) and "WW TOKYO" on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM (1st and 3rd Mondays at 7 PM) are currently airing to great acclaim.

DJ, remixer, sound producer, and composer. In 2005, he gained attention when NY DJ Timmy Regisford played his demo version of "BLAZIN'" three times in one night. He made his worldwide debut in the same year. In Japan, he made his major debut on New Year's Day 2006 under the production of Shuya Okino of Kyoto Jazz Massive. The song "SHINE," produced by Shuya Okino and sound-produced by Kawasaki, was released by DEFECTED, a major European house label, garnering significant attention. In May 2013, he released his first career-spanning compilation best album, "NAKED ? DJ KAWASAKI Complete Best" (Universal Music LLC), followed by "TIMELESS mixed by DJ KAWASAKI" in June 2015. He currently hosts the program "FEEL THE MAGiC" on block.fm (first Tuesday of every month).
