Featuring Okinawa's Own ORANGE RANGE, KREVA, and Other Star Artists
In April, a new festival, "Orion Island Waves," will unfold, where music, art, and Okinawa's natural beauty will gently blend across the island, embracing its culture, atmosphere, and essence.
"Orion Island Waves" is conceived with the aim of delivering Okinawa's charm as a proud and valuable experience to the next generation and the world.
The venue is Senaga Island, located about a 15-minute drive from Naha Airport, where the sea and sky open up expansively. Live performances will take place on two stages against the backdrop of the sea and sky stretching out before Umikaji Terrace.
The first and second wave of artists have now been announced.
On the first day, Saturday, April 18th, performances will include Okinawa's own ORANGE RANGE, known for their many hit songs; Tommy Guerrero, a skater who influences the world and whose unique sound is captivating; STUTS, a beatmaker drawing attention for his distinctive rhythmic sense; SIRUP, who continues to fascinate listeners with his genre-defying, sophisticated sound and vocal style that fluidly moves between rap and singing; and PES, who delivers music with versatile expressiveness, from powerful stage performances to intimate acoustic guitar sing-alongs.
The second day, Sunday, April 19th, will feature KREVA, who remains at the forefront of the hip-hop scene; MONKEY MAJIK, who has carved out a unique position transcending borders and languages; the five-member band Kroi, presenting a mixture of musical styles; and the singer-songwriter iri, who commands a singular presence, seamlessly singing over beats in hip-hop/R&B style and dance tracks. More artists are expected to be announced.
The venue will also feature a food area offering a variety of local delicacies, including dishes made with local ingredients and Okinawan specialties, alongside Orion Beer and other beverages.
Additionally, a market will be held, showcasing Orion official merchandise, Okinawan apparel, crafts, and more, creating a festival experience that embraces the entire island.
