CD Featuring Live Footage from Suntory Hall and Sakamoto's Select Best Takes Also Available

Following its success in 2013, Ryuichi Sakamoto's 'Playing the Orchestra,' which marked his first full orchestra collaboration in 16 years, returned in 2014. This release captures the performance held at Suntory Hall on April 4, 2014.

During the concert, Sakamoto played piano and conducted all pieces, performing masterpieces such as 'Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence,' 'The Last Emperor,' and 'Yae no Sakura.' The program also included the premiere of 'Ballet Mécanique' with a new orchestration, all of which are featured on the Blu-ray and DVD.


Additionally, a two-disc CD set, 'The Best of 'Playing the Orchestra 2014',' featuring Sakamoto's personally selected best takes from seven performances across six cities nationwide, was released simultaneously. A deluxe box set combining this CD with the Blu-ray and DVD was also released.

In April, a limited edition vinyl release of 400 sets, comprising three heavy-weight discs, was also made available. 'The Best of 'Playing the Orchestra 2014'' offers diverse ways to enjoy the music. A year after the tour, the profound energy of the concert continues to envelop listeners.
