A Moment Where Fashion and Music Seamlessly Converge

Emporio Armani Sounds, hosted by the fashion brand Emporio Armani, is a music event held in six cities worldwide: New York, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona, Beijing, and Tokyo. Each iteration features stylish artists with a strong affinity for fashion, garnering widespread acclaim.

At the Tokyo performance held at Aoyama IDOL on October 9th, Kindness, currently one of the most talked-about artists from the UK, took the stage. With the recent announcement of their new release, "Otherness," and the buzz surrounding the online previews, the audience was brimming with anticipation even before the show began.




As DJ James Cooper amped up the crowd, Kindness appeared. Met with enthusiastic cheers, their powerful live performance commenced. The sound, a blend of disco grooves with hints of funk, jazz, and post-rock, unfolded with an energetic performance. Meanwhile, their delicate appearance and voice created an atmosphere that symbolized the diverse and chaotic music scene of our time.


OPENERS was fortunate enough to interview Kindness, also known as Adam Bainbridge. We obtained his comments regarding his visit to Japan for Emporio Armani Sounds.




“This is my second time performing in Japan, and it’s a place I hold dear. The audience welcomed me warmly, and it was another incredibly exciting live show. I’m using Japanese equipment for my synthesizers, which provide wonderful sounds and inspiration. That’s another reason I love Japan. Oh, and there’s a synthesizer model from the 1970s called the Yamaha CS-80; I’d sell everything I own to get my hands on it (laughs).”

Music and fashion share a close relationship, exciting people through their synergy. It's a crucial element for performance, and I pay great attention to my styling on stage.
