Hiromi Uehara Joins Stanley Clarke's New Trio
Hiromi: The Peerless Piano Prodigy
Full Participation in Stanley Clarke's New Trio
Jazz pianist Hiromi, based in New York and active worldwide.
Following Chick Corea last year, she now fully participates in a new project by Stanley Clarke, the bassist from Return to Forever.
The new album, 'Jazz in the Garden,' is set for release on April 15th.
The Beautiful Chemistry Between a Young Jazz Virtuoso and Esteemed Veterans
Hiromi, who plays with an abundance of sound that seems to soar to the heavens, energizes us all. In this collaboration with the supremely talented artists Stanley Clarke and Lenny White, she showcases her technique and sensibility in a new light.
Stanley Clarke is a legendary bassist in the jazz world, famous for forming 'Return to Forever' with Chick Corea, a group that took the world by storm. His superhuman playing during sessions with Jeff Beck also garnered support from rock listeners.
Lenny White, who later joined Clarke's band, is a renowned drummer who has recorded with countless historic musicians, including Miles Davis. He also possesses a solid talent as a producer.
This album truly makes one realize how Hiromi's boundless talent shines even brighter when collaborating with such distinguished musicians.
The album features compositions and co-compositions primarily by Clarke and Hiromi, alongside renditions of 'Sakura Sakura' and works by Duke Ellington and Miles Davis. Many tracks offer a mellow listening experience, with the beautiful piano passage in 'Three Long Notes' evoking a deeply moving sense of bliss.
A surprising inclusion is 'Under The Bridge,' which opens with a cascade of beautiful chords. It's, of course, a cover of the American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. Clarke's profound melodic lines and Hiromi's delicate piano deliver the original's poignant emotion with a completely fresh perspective, leading to an otherworldly conclusion with her improvisations.
