The term "curator" typically refers to someone who plans and manages exhibitions at institutions like museums with academic expertise. When applied to music, it becomes "music curator," or what we call a selector. I entered the music industry in the 80s, and my initial aspiration was to become one. Through various opportunities, I began producing music and performing as a DJ, but my original intention was to be a behind-the-scenes figure, choosing music to suit different situations.
More than 30 years have passed since then, and after experiencing the pandemic, I've reaffirmed how vital music is to life. This has fueled my desire to deliver carefully selected music to public spaces, leading me to focus on curation in recent years. The latest manifestation of this is "Le Grand Closet de PARIGOT / MAN GINZA SIX," the flagship store for the brand's first men's and new format store in the Tokyo metropolitan area, opening on April 6th (Sunday) at GINZA SIX, featuring a curated selection of brands from around the world.
The interior design, conceived by Masamichi Katayama of Wonderwall, evokes the dreamlike world depicted in the film "American Psycho." Imagined as a "private closet of a fictional collector," managed like a museum's storage, it offers a collection of exquisite items for the discerning man, ranging from global luxury brands and designer labels to classic Italian and luxury sportswear. Similar to the women's store that opened earlier in Azabudai Hills late last year, please enjoy your shopping experience in a unique sonic environment, crafted by the collaboration of my music curation and the sound system selection and tuning by sound director ZAK.

The flagship store of "Tonkotsu Tsukiya," a restaurant with fans nationwide for its exquisite clear tonkotsu soup and noodles, run by a friend from Fukuoka and opened last spring in GINZA SIX. In the heart of Ginza, from daytime (and of course, evening), enjoy natural wines, sake, craft beer, highballs, and well-chosen appetizers. And for the finale, the tonkotsu ramen. We also handle the music curation for this location, along with the Fukuoka Airport store.

Formed United Future Organization (U.F.O.) in 1990.
Released five full-length albums in 32 countries worldwide, receiving critical acclaim.
Since going solo in 2002, he has been active as a DJ at clubs and festivals both domestically and internationally.
He also produces events and handles music supervision for sophisticated lifestyle spots, including hotels, international brands,
and Michelin-starred restaurants.
In 2013, he launched HEX, a project disseminating contemporary jazz, and released the album "HEX" worldwide on Blue Note
Records.
In 2018, he released a new project featuring young British musicians,
TOSHIO MATSUURA GROUP, with a worldwide album release.
In March 2024, the album was reissued on vinyl by Brownswood Recordings in the UK.
