An open-hearted work that transcends genre boundaries

Musician Kan Sano began teaching himself piano and composition at age 11. By 16, he was performing monthly solo piano improvisations in his hometown of Kanazawa. After graduating high school, he enrolled at Berklee College of Music. During his studies, he gained international experience, performing with his own band at the Monterey Jazz Festival.


Last year, he debuted as a member of "Toshio Matsuura presents HEX" on the prestigious jazz label Blue Note.Toshio Matsuura presents HEXHe has also participated in live performances and recordings for artists such as竹善 Sato, Chara, 羊毛とおはな (Yoko to Ohana), and Eric Lau, showcasing his talents not only as a player but also as a producer and composer.

His recent limited-edition 100-copy mix download project on SoundCloud instantly reached its capacity upon release, drawing significant attention. He has also made notable appearances, both underground and mainstream, including a performance as pianist "Kan Sano" on the NHK BS television program "El Mundo."


While the album's broad musicality leaves a strong impression, each track possesses a blend of seasoned quality and fresh innovation. From gentle solo piano pieces to tracks with a comfortable groove infused with jazz and soul, and even pop songs sung with rich emotion, the album exudes a smooth, mellow atmosphere. It's a work that transcends genres and values, offering a sense of liberation.
