Jane Birkin Photo Exhibition Held Ahead of Her Japan Tour

Ahead of Jane Birkin's Japan concert on November 25 (Friday), a "Jane Birkin Photo Exhibition Commemorating Her Japan Tour" by world-renowned photographer Gabriel Crawford will be held from November 3 (Thursday, holiday) to 15 (Tuesday) at LOGOS GALLERY in Shibuya PARCO, Tokyo.

Proceeds from Photo Sales and Charity Auction to Aid Disaster Relief

Jane Birkin has long supported Japan's recovery, sending messages of solidarity after March 11, making an emergency visit to hold benefit concerts, and calling for support. To precede her North American tour with the "Jane Band," an ensemble of four Japanese artists formed for this concert, a special one-night-only performance in Japan will take place on November 25 (Friday) at the Tokyo International Forum.

In anticipation of the concert, an exhibition of photographs by her longtime close friend, the world-renowned photographer Gabriel Crawford—known for his portraits of figures from John Lennon to Margaret Thatcher—has been organized. All photographs displayed at the exhibition will be available for order, complete with a certificate of authenticity signed by both Birkin and Crawford. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Furthermore, an auction of Jane Birkin's personal items will feature her iconic Converse sneakers, bearing her initials, and original handwritten "songbooks" and "illustrations" drawn by herself. All proceeds, after operational expenses, will be donated to disaster victims through the organization "Children Without Borders."

Tickets for Jane Birkin's November 25 concert, along with related books and DVDs, will also be on sale at the venue. Additionally, a limited edition of 20 pairs (10 each of sizes 36 and 38) of jeans, a replica of those worn by Birkin on the album cover of Serge Gainsbourg's masterpiece "Melody Nelson," will be available for purchase.

Jane Birkin, an eternal fashion icon, muse to Serge Gainsbourg, and activist, possesses a multifaceted persona. This exhibition is a celebration of her captivating charm.
