Live Performance in Shibuya TSUTAYA O-EAST with New Single

Nitro Microphone Underground, who made a dramatic comeback in 2019, will hold a live performance at Shibuya TSUTAYA O-EAST with their new song "Walking TOKYO." The event is scheduled for Thursday, January 30, 2020. Advance tickets are now on sale.

In 2019, the hip-hop group Nitro Microphone Underground celebrated their 20th anniversary and made a spectacular return.

In May 2019, they released a music video for "LIVE19," a megamix featuring bold sampling, on YouTube. In June, they broke a seven-year silence with a solo live performance at Shibuya TSUTAYA O-EAST.

Tickets for the show sold out in seconds. On stage, the eight members delivered an electrifying microphone relay, showing no signs of a long hiatus and thrilling the 1,700 attendees. They continued their momentum with festival appearances and other guest performances, capping off their comeback year in fitting style as they entered 2020.

The first major event of 2020 was the release of their first original new single in nine years, "Nitro Microphone Underground," on January 10th.

For the new song "Walking TOKYO," they enlisted JOE IRON, a producer who has become an indispensable figure in Japan's music scene.

The track presents a new sonic landscape, blending warm sampling sounds reminiscent of the golden age of 90s hip-hop with trap beats. Set against the backdrop of a changing Tokyo, the microphone relay connecting the eight members, unchanged by time, is a must-listen.

Then, on January 30th (Thursday), they will hold their first live performance in seven months, "LIVE20." Tickets are currently on sale. Following their impactful comeback in 2019, Nitro Microphone Underground is expected to continue their energetic activities in 2020. We urge you to pay close attention to "Walking TOKYO," the new single that serves as a prelude, and the "LIVE20" performance.
