KENKOU, the younger brother of chillout Balearic music pioneer Calm and a drummer for Pepe California, will release his fourth solo album, 'Music In The Air,' on Sunday, July 7th.

A Gentle, Warm Soundscape Descending Upon the Earth
Approximately three years since his previous album, 'New Dimensions of The World,' KENKOU's new album, 'Music In The Air,' incorporates new experiments, including recording his own drumming and featuring vocals from takashi kato of CHUB DU on several tracks.
His signature ephemeral, beautiful, and warm sound remains. While adding new colors, the flow and narrative structure, as if listening to a story throughout the album, have been refined. It feels as though it takes us on a profound journey. The performances by participating musicians haruka nakamura, Yuichiro Kato, Sumilady of KINGDOM☆AFROCKS, and jazz pianist Hiroko Miyano are also highlights.
'Music In The Air' sounds like a heartwarming message from a loved one. With KENKOU scheduled to perform live at the Daydreaming stage at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '13, his future live activities are also worth watching.
KENKOU
Younger brother of Calm. He began making music with the desire to create and express 'a single piece of music that resonates with the heart.' His style is based on Electronica, Chillout, and Ambient elements, while also absorbing Jazz, Rock, and all other genres, creating a harmony as 'a single piece of music' that encompasses everything beyond. He continues to create unique songs that are instantly recognizable as KENKOU's. He also participates in live performances and recordings as a drummer and percussionist for Pepe California, Kaoru Inoue, Calm, and others.
