LA Beat Scene's Enigmatic Artist Baths Releases New Album "Obsidian"
Three years have passed since his masterpiece debut album "Cerulean," lauded by numerous media outlets as one of the year's best. Now, 24-year-old prodigy Will Wiesenfeld, known as Baths, has completed his highly anticipated second album, "Obsidian." His intricate beatmaking and emotionally resonant vocal work have evolved significantly since his previous release.

Dark Lyrics Adorn Beautiful Soundscapes
Will Wiesenfeld, known as Baths, began studying classical piano at age four, and started composing and recording at fourteen. Under the moniker "Post-foetus," he also created band-oriented music. Later, he discovered the LA beat scene, cultivated by artists like Flying Lotus, and began producing works as a beatmaker under the name "Baths."
The concept behind "Obsidian" is "apathy." In 2011, shortly before his first tour in Japan, Wiesenfeld fell seriously ill, forcing an abrupt postponement of the shows. Wiesenfeld has openly stated his strong influence from Japanese subculture and had long yearned to perform in Japan. The disappointment and helplessness he felt at the time led to the creation of his dark lyrics.
Wiesenfeld adheres to a creative principle: "Never be dishonest with myself." "Obsidian" is a painfully direct reflection of his circumstances and feelings at the time, resulting in a work of exceptional purity from the artist known as Will.
The project Baths, led by the young genius Will Wiesenfeld, confirms his status as a next-generation artist to watch with this second chapter.
