A Cinematic Journey Through Sound
Sen (Osamu Mukai), a photographer who accompanies his sister on a trip to Paris, meets Aoi (Miho Nakayama), a Japanese woman working for a freelance magazine in the city. Directed by Eriko Kitagawa, "At the Terrace" depicts a three-day romance that blossoms from a chance encounter between a man and a woman in Paris.
Ryuichi Sakamoto, who served as music director, expressed this adult, romantic love through his music. Meanwhile, Kotringo, with her distinctive pop sensibility, added further richness and color to the love story.
"By capturing Miho Nakayama's ever-changing expressions, I created music that coexists with the visuals, completing a single work. "At the Terrace" was realized through the journey of its visuals and music together," Sakamoto explained. Kotringo added, "As the setting was France, we asked a French singer to perform, and for the hotel scene's background music, we actually recorded it with a string quartet. Ryuichi Sakamoto and I considered many things to make it as realistic as possible."
This soundtrack allows you to journey through the film's world with its sound, and it can also be enjoyed as background music for your daily life. We invite you to savor the encounter between the music of Ryuichi Sakamoto and Kotringo.
