An Exquisite Dinner Show, Held for Two Nights Only

"Bansankai: Into the Naked Forest," produced by jazz musician Naruyoshi Kikuchi, is structured to strongly evoke the essence of a "banquet."

First, all guests will be asked to gather at the appointed time. They will then be seated simultaneously, with staff commencing service all at once – a meticulous detail. The menu, Kikuchi explains, was deliberately kept conservative to avoid being overly eccentric. The courses progress from a welcome drink, amuse-bouche, fish, meat, to dessert, ensuring that dinner is concluded before the music begins.

During dinner, Kikuchi selects the background music, which serves as a form of prelude to the performance, enhancing the dining experience.

The ensemble chosen for the performance is "Pepe Tormento Ascalare." This choice was made because they are deemed most fitting for the sophisticated atmosphere, which will feature a progression of fine wines, including sparkling, white, and red, alongside rich dishes like game, meat, cheese, and dessert.

A dress code is also in place, but it's not intended to be stuffy or exclusive. For gentlemen, a bow tie or a hat is sufficient, regardless of whether the attire is casual or formal. For ladies, any head accessory, including a hat, or stockings without seams or patterns in more than one color are acceptable. Guests are encouraged to wear their most formal item from their own wardrobe.

From its structure to the dress code, this dinner show is a testament to creativity, playfulness, and the spirit of hospitality.

Regarding the event, Kikuchi commented, "This dinner-with-live-music format, where I, as the bandleader for the evening, am fully producing it, is likely a first in post-war jazz history in Japan. It came about from a proposal by Motion Blue Yokohama. As I've often said, my life's goal is to run a grand cabaret, and while this is a playful endeavor, I intend to approach it with utmost seriousness."
