MASTERS AT WORK in JAPAN - It’s Alright, I Feel It!
On Saturday, November 19th, an anniversary event will be held celebrating the 10th anniversary of PRIMITIVE INC., which has led Tokyo's dance music scene through countdown events at Ebisu Garden Hall and planning & production for Body&Soul, and the 14th anniversary of ageHa, which has hosted many of the world's top DJs. The legendary DJ unit "MASTERS AT WORK" will perform live at ageHa@STUDIO COAST for the first time in 10 years.

Hospitality Including VIP and Kids Areas
The seminal house music artists, "MASTERS AT WORK," are set to perform in Japan for the first time in a decade at Tokyo's ageHa@STUDIO COAST. Comprised of Louie Vega, who draws on salsa and Latin influences and has won Grammy Awards, and Kenny Dope, who commands strong support from the streets with his hip-hop and reggae sounds, MASTERS AT WORK is a legendary unit that has profoundly influenced the dance music scene.
After their debut in the early 90s, their first visit to Japan occurred in 1996. While they subsequently performed in Japan individually, their demanding schedules meant their second appearance as MASTERS AT WORK wasn't until 10 years later, at PRIMITIVE INC.'s 10th-anniversary party in 2006. Now, for their third visit to Japan, they will perform at the memorial occasion of PRIMITIVE INC.'s 10th anniversary and ageHa's 14th anniversary, a venue that has hosted a constellation of world-renowned artists.

As this is a rare daytime event at ageHa, VIP and kids' areas will be available, along with other food areas and workshops.
Additionally, numerous artists are scheduled to perform to celebrate the anniversary.
Amidst the 90s revival in fashion and music, this party is perfect for those who experienced the peak of "play" during that era. It's an opportunity for parents to introduce their children to their first club experience, or for anyone to reminisce about the energetic atmosphere of the 90s. Of course, even those new to clubbing are encouraged to attend.

MASTERS AT WORK
The unit consists of Louie Vega, whose background includes Latin, African, jazz, and dance classics, and Kenny Dope, whose identity is rooted in street music like hip-hop and reggae. After releasing their first album "Masters At Work" in 1993, they released early representative works such as "Are You Using Me" featuring vocalist Luther Vandross, "Beautiful People," and "Love & Happiness." In '96, they established their own label, MAW Records. The following year, they released "Nuyorican Soul" under the name Nuyorican Soul. While the participation of luxurious guests like Roy Ayers and Jocelyn Brown generated significant buzz, their rich sound, which boldly absorbed R&B and soul with Latin and jazz elements, profoundly influenced the dance music scene and is cherished as a masterpiece. MAW, having received overwhelming acclaim, was constantly inundated with remix requests, leading them to work on numerous tracks for artists including Madonna, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Jamiroquai, Björk, Daft Punk, Misha, and Towa Tei. Their second album under the MAW name, "Our Time Is Coming," released in 2002, became a global hit. Both artists are also actively pursuing solo careers; in '06, Vega won the Best Remixer award at the 48th Grammy Awards, and Dope released an all-instrumental original album. In 2014 and 2015, MAW curated the popular compilation series "House Masters" for a leading UK label for two consecutive years, packing a total of eight discs with their creations.
