Five Performances in All, Featuring the Largest Program Ever

Shuta Hasunuma, a composer with a wide-ranging practice who also actively works in the contemporary art field, is reviving his "Music Today" event series, which he plans, produces, and hosts. This iteration marks its return after two years and boasts the largest scale yet, with four consecutive days and five performances.

The program includes a solo performance by Hasunuma himself, and a new ensemble performance dubbed "Unplugged," featuring entirely acoustic, unamplified music. Additionally, contemporary artists such as Akio Suzuki, Kotringo, Kan Roy, and U-zhaan will present interdisciplinary performances.



The event will also feature film screenings and talk sessions with artists and creators living in the same era. The talk program, in collaboration with the magazine "Shikku," will invite guests such as visual artists, film directors, journalists, and critics to discuss the current state of Japanese art. Original merchandise, a collaboration between Noritake and Daijiro Ohara, will also be available for purchase.

"In any case, each day's performance will feature things rarely seen," says Hasunuma. "I am confident that everyone—performers, audience, staff—will be able to view expression from various angles and make stimulating discoveries. Encountering art, sometimes enjoying it, sometimes contemplating it. This 'Music Today' will undoubtedly be a one-of-a-kind event."
