Special Exhibition: Art Animations by Osamu Tezuka

A new "Second Movement" is born, breathing life into Osamu Tezuka's creative notes—brought to life by his son, Makoto Tezuka. To commemorate the completion of the "Second Movement" of Tezuka's unfinished work, "The Legend of the Forest," which will have its world premiere at the Hiroshima International Animation Festival, Brillia Short Shorts Theater in Minatomirai, Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, will host a special exhibition of Tezuka's art animations from Friday, September 5th to Sunday, September 14th.

Director Makoto Tezuka to Host Talk Event on Opening Day

"The Legend of the Forest" was conceived by the late Osamu Tezuka, who envisioned four episodes for each of the four movements, set to Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. The work remained unfinished and sealed after Tezuka's death, but his son, Makoto Tezuka, a visual artist and filmmaker himself, has carried on his father's legacy, resulting in the newly completed "Second Movement."

This special exhibition will feature the first, fourth, and newly completed second movements of "The Legend of the Forest," along with ten rare animated works produced by Osamu Tezuka between 1962 and his passing. On Friday, September 5th, a talk event with director Makoto Tezuka will also be held.
