A Shock Since "Infernal Affairs"

From terrorism and kidnapping to corruption. "Cold War: The Cold War Hong Kong Police" realistically depicts the complex organizational structure and internal affairs of the Hong Kong Police Force like never before.

The script, with its twists and turns, keeps you guessing. The directors, Leung Lok-man and Sunny Luk, previously worked as assistant directors and art department staff on numerous films. Their speedy and sophisticated direction, remarkable for a directorial debut, has propelled them into the ranks of hitmakers.

Furthermore, a star-studded cast representing the Hong Kong film industry, from veterans to rising stars, has assembled. The Deputy Commissioner, Lee, is played by acclaimed actor Tony Leung Ka-fai, who won Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards. His rival, Deputy Commissioner Lau, is played by Aaron Kwok, also known as one of the "Four Heavenly Kings of Hong Kong." Andy Lau, from "Infernal Affairs," makes a special appearance as the head of the "Security Bureau." Charlie Yeung, from "The Lovers," adds glamour to the intense drama between these men.

Cold War 03

Are you the enemy, or am I? The justice of a police officer is tested.

One evening, an explosion occurs in Mong Kok, Hong Kong's busiest district, followed shortly by the disappearance of five police officers and their vehicle. Deputy Commissioner Lee, who leads the "Operations Department," takes charge of the investigation in the absence of the Police Commissioner, who is on overseas duty. Upon learning that his only son, Joe, is in the vehicle, he launches an unprecedented hostage rescue operation codenamed "Cold War," staking the pride of the police force and mobilizing all available personnel. However, Deputy Commissioner Lau, who heads the "Security Management Department," questions Lee's methods, which seem to blur the lines between duty and personal involvement, leading to a fierce confrontation between the two, both contenders for the next Police Commissioner position. Meanwhile, an informant triggers an investigation by the anti-corruption unit, and suspicions begin to fall on both Lee and Lau.
