Also Coming to Osaka on May 11th and 12th

Launched in 2001 as part of "The Year of Italian Culture in Japan," the "Italian Film Festival" marks its 13th year. It has grown into a major Golden Week event, beloved by many fans, attracting over 10,000 visitors annually.

Through screenings at the "Italian Film Festival," numerous Italian films such as "We Are Family," "The Woman Who Dreamed of the Sea," and "Gomorrah" have since received general release in Japan, becoming box office hits.

This year, 13 new films produced since 2011 will be shown. Among them is "Piazza Fontana: The Italian Conspiracy," an ambitious work by Marco Tullio Giordana, known for masterpieces like "The Best of Youth" and "One Hundred Steps," which tackles a real event that shook Italy in 1969. Also featured is "Reality," winner of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival.

The lineup also boasts a diverse selection, including films starring Italy's leading popular actors like Toni Servillo, Elio Germano, and Valerio Mastandrea, heartwarming comedies unique to Italy, and films featuring popular musicians.

Furthermore, following last year's event, it will also be held in Osaka on Saturday, May 11th and Sunday, May 12th at the ABC Hall, screening seven films.

With a captivating collection of films, the "Italian Film Festival" offers the chance to see them in Japan before anywhere else. Why not spend your Golden Week immersed in Italian cinema, filled with laughter, tears, and compelling stories?
