Directed by Lee Yong-ju, Who Was Also an Architect

‘Architecture 101’ begins when the protagonist, an architect, is suddenly approached 15 years later by his college sweetheart, who asks him to build her a house. In Korea, the film garnered immense support from men, leading to a surge in repeat viewings and becoming a social phenomenon. It is now set for release in Japan.

The director, Lee Yong-ju, was actually an architect himself. Infusing the film with his knowledge and experience, he masterfully balanced the evolving emotions of the couple in the present with fragmented memories resurfacing as the house is built.

The cast features double roles for both the past and present. While Uhm Tae-woong and Han Ga-in deliver mature performances as the adult versions, newcomers Lee Je-hoon and Suzy captivate audiences with their fresh portrayals.



Furthermore, props like Walkmans and pagers authentically recreate the 1990s, transporting viewers back to their nostalgic youth.

Seung-min Falls for University Student Seo-yeon at First Sight

Seung-min, a first-year university student in the architecture department, meets Seo-yeon, a music major, in their “Introduction to Architecture” class and falls instantly in love. However, shy Seung-min struggles to confess his feelings and eventually drifts apart from Seo-yeon due to a minor misunderstanding.

Fifteen years later, Seo-yeon suddenly reappears before Seung-min, now an architect, and asks him to build her house. During the construction process, Seo-yeon’s true circumstances gradually come to light. Memories resurface, and new, warm emotions begin to bloom. However, Seung-min is engaged.—.
