Robert Pattinson of "Twilight" fame steps into a new era!

"Cosmopolis" is the cinematic adaptation by director David Cronenberg of the 2003 novel by American literary master Don DeLillo. The astonishing story and world view are lauded for their prescient depiction of the financial panic sparked by the later Lehman Shock and the eruption of anti-inequality protests. Inspired by the poetic and thought-provoking dialogue, the director penned the script in just six days. He effortlessly realized this project, which the author himself admitted was "difficult to adapt into a film," a testament to the filmmaker's imagination.

The lead role is played by Robert Pattinson, known for the "Twilight" series. Donning a cool, dark suit, he exudes a palpable sense of weary loneliness, madness, and decadent allure, marking a bold leap forward in his acting career. Yet, an undeniable sense of emptiness pervades Eric's inner world. One day, as he embarks on a two-mile journey to a barber shop in his limousine, he becomes caught in a demonstration and severe traffic jam coinciding with the President's visit to Manhattan.

A catastrophic loss of billions due to investment failure, emotional estrangement from his beautiful wife, and the encroaching shadow of an assassin. Unable to repair the gears that have begun to turn erratically, Eric is helplessly swept into a destructive fate.──.

What awaits at the end of the final scene: "death" or a new "life"? This film, a quintessential example of Cronenberg's world, stimulates the viewer's intellectual curiosity and draws them into a dangerous yet sweet fantasy and delusion.
