Food stalls, events, and workshops to feature at the venue

Last year marked the start of 'Nakameguro Cinemas,' which reimagines the entire Nakameguro area, once a 'town without a movie theater,' as a cinema.Nakameguro CinemasNow known as 'Nakamekino,' this installment coincides with the cherry blossom festival, the busiest time of year for the neighborhood, when the approximately 830 cherry trees lining the Meguro River from Ohashi to Meguro Station burst into bloom. This will be the first outdoor screening, held amidst the vibrant sakura.
The film to be screened, 'Sunny,' is perfectly suited for the season of meetings and farewells. It tells the story of a housewife who decides to reunite her high school friends to help one of them, who has been given only two months to live. The film, which drew 7.4 million viewers in South Korea in 2011, became a word-of-mouth hit in Japan as well.
The venue will feature a 'limited area' with 100 seats, equipped with appropriate sound systems for an optimal viewing experience. Admission passes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis from noon on the 30th at the 'Nakamekino' official booth within the Meguro River Boat-In Park. Viewers will also be able to watch the film from outside this designated area.
The event will also host talks with guests including manga artist Yusaku Hanakuma, broadcast writer Makoto Matsuzaki, film writer Takeo Matsuzaki, and film critic Kei Nakai, before and after the outdoor screening. Furthermore, from the morning, numerous food stalls, event booths, and workshop areas run by Nakameguro-affiliated eateries will be set up within the venue, offering more than just the film experience.
This is a superb theater experience, allowing you to enjoy a film while admiring the cherry blossoms. Don't miss this unique way to enjoy cinema, especially during this season.
