As a child, my mother always told me this, and the idea that "lies = theft" was deeply ingrained in me. Since then, my days have been largely free from lies and theft.

However, in high school, I was inspired by the gag "If everyone crosses at a red light, it's not scary" by Two Beat, and I learned the phrase "lies can be a means to an end." At the time, while I was drawn to "lies can be a means to an end" based on "liars are the beginning of thieves," I found that even telling a small lie left a bad aftertaste. Once you tell a lie, you have to tell another to cover it up, so I concluded that it’s easier not to lie at all rather than go through such trouble.

Despite this, I love watching movies, dramas, and anime about the mafia or yakuza. I enjoy the unrealistic, grand lies and the ruthless worlds filled with drama of betrayal and being betrayed.

Depending on the work, these genres also feature noteworthy fashion. In the fictional world, I get excited when the story and the costumes perfectly align. After all, liars and thieves have to be cool, right? I believe their charm is halved if they aren't impeccably dressed.
