A Celebration of Cinema Featuring Notable Films from Around the World

The Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), established in 1985, is the only film festival in Asia accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations. This year marks its 25th anniversary. The festival is scheduled to take place over nine days, from Saturday, October 20th to Monday, October 29th, at Roppongi Hills. It offers an unparalleled opportunity to be among the first to experience outstanding films from across the globe.

Asia's Premier Film Festival

TIFF (Tokyo International Film Festival) is Japan's only internationally accredited film festival, drawing global attention from Asia to Europe. Marking its 25th milestone, the festival embraces this moment as a launchpad for a new stage, returning to its roots to re-examine "what can only be achieved through a film festival." It aims to foster not only exchange within the film industry but also to serve as a platform for creating new opportunities that transcend borders and generations, connecting diverse fields such as culture and business. Striving to convey the power of cinema to a wider audience, TIFF will feature six distinct screening sections, alongside numerous sponsored events and pre-festival activities.

The official opening film is "Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away 3D." Produced by James Cameron, the mastermind behind "Avatar," and directed by Andrew Adamson, known for "The Chronicles of Narnia," this highly anticipated epic promises a spectacular start to the festival. Closing the festival will be "Trouble with the Curve." This marks Clint Eastwood's return to acting after four years, following his directorial and starring role in "Gran Torino." This moving human drama will bring the 25th Tokyo International Film Festival to a close.
