Eighteen years after 'Léon,' the masterpiece of action drama depicting the emotional connection between a hitman and a young girl, Luc Besson, who had long desired a sequel, has created a new hard-boiled action heroine in 'Colombiana.'
Zoe Saldana, who broke through with 'Avatar' and 'Star Trek,' plays Cataleya, a nine-year-old girl whose sole purpose in life becomes revenge after her parents are murdered before her eyes. She passionately portrays the tragic yet beautiful 'hitwoman' with her perfectly sculpted physique and astonishing physical abilities.
Her reason for living... only to exact revenge
1992, Colombia. Nine-year-old Cataleya, daughter of a mafia executive, witnesses her family brutally murdered on the orders of a powerful crime boss. Barely escaping, she reaches her uncle in Chicago, USA, vowing to herself, 'I will have my revenge someday.'
Fifteen years later, the beautifully grown Cataleya operates as a skilled assassin. The Colombian orchid she leaves at each crime scene is a token of revenge, designed to draw out her enemies. Eventually, triggered by an unexpected event, Cataleya takes up her gun to settle all new tragedies, sorrows, and angers. Her revenge, which defines her life, races towards its climax.—.
