18 Short Films to Be Screened

A CD series titled "Nihon no Uta," released by commmons, a label headed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, aims to pass down traditional Japanese songs and children's tunes to future generations.
This film festival showcases 18 short films inspired by the songs from this CD series.


The lineup boasts a distinguished roster of talent, including not only leading Japanese filmmakers but also Shingo Wakagi, a photographer active in fashion magazines and advertising, and actor Yusuke Iseya, who recently released his directorial debut, "Seiji." Each film will be screened daily on a rotating basis, with talk sessions featuring the directors themselves.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to support the recovery efforts in the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
