DOMMUNE and au 5G (KDDI) have partnered to present FISHMANS' AR live performance, "INVISIBILITY," on June 14, 2020, at "SUPER DOMMUNE tuned by au 5G," a streaming studio for the 5G era.

Launched in March 2010 by Naohiro Ukawa, an artist and filmmaker with numerous accolades, DOMMUNE is Japan's first live-streaming studio and channel.

Upon its launch, it garnered a record-breaking number of viewers. Over its decade-long operation, it has broadcast approximately 5,000 programs, totaling around 10,000 hours, and reached over 100 million viewers.

Ukawa regards the filming, broadcasting, and recording of programs produced daily at the DOMMUNE studio as his own "contemporary art." Its unique characteristic lies in its focus not just on the final product, but also on the creative process.

DOMMUNE and au 5G (KDDI) have joined forces, launching a special initiative with "SUPER DOMMUNE tuned by au5G" as a streaming studio for the 5G era.

Here, augmented reality live performances will be held, incorporating cutting-edge technology and AR.

By utilizing data from sensing devices—such as brainwaves and emotional responses—this new era of live streaming allows viewers to experience the studio's energy and atmosphere in real-time, even remotely.

Leveraging au's 5G technology, artists can participate in the studio remotely. This initiative proposes an experimental and continuously evolving experience within a state-of-the-art live studio, integrating technologies owned by companies involved in the "Shibuya 5G Entertainment Project."

While entertainment activities have been restricted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, following the lifting of the state of emergency, the "Shibuya 5G Entertainment Project" presents its first collaboration: the AR live performance "INVISIBILITY" by the iconic DUB ROCK band, FISHMANS.

This long-awaited AR live performance by FISHMANS offers a chance to immerse oneself in their music, as if to release pent-up emotions from this period.

Since 2005, led by drummer Kinichi "Kinch" Motegi, the band has continued to perform at festivals and other events, steadily gaining new fans.

Their signature hybrid sound, rooted in reggae, dub, and rocksteady, blends elements of rock, funk, and hip-hop, promising to captivate audiences through the latest technology.

With just a compatible device, attendees can enjoy a live experience as immersive as being at the venue. This event sparks anticipation for the new possibilities that au 5G will bring to our lives.
