MICARD is issued by Mitsukoshi Isetan Group's MICARD Co., Ltd. The first installment explained the card's preferential rates and points, and the second introduced its unique free consulting service, 'Financier'. This third and final installment covers the Gold Card's overview and its benefits.

The annual fee for the Gold Card is ¥10,500. Up to four family member cards can be issued, each with an annual fee of ¥2,100. Let's first examine the basic shopping benefits.

The basic preferential rate is 5%. If your total annual spending reaches ¥200,000 or more, the rate increases to 7% the following year; at ¥500,000 or more, it becomes 8%; and at ¥1,000,000 or more, it rises to 10%. While this preferential rate is the same as the general card, the Gold Card earns 1 point per ¥100 spent at affiliated stores outside the Mitsukoshi Isetan Group department stores, compared to the standard card's 1 point per ¥200. Simply put, you earn points twice as fast.

Also noteworthy are the benefits designed for a more relaxed shopping experience. Enjoy extended parking privileges at Mitsukoshi Isetan Group department stores. At the 'Park City Isetan 1' parking lot near the Isetan Shinjuku Main Store, Gold Card members receive three hours of free parking anytime upon presentation of their card. Additionally, lounge and salon services are available at specific designated stores, offering a convenient place to rest during your shopping excursions.

Purchases made with the Gold Card at any Mitsukoshi Isetan Group department store, whether domestic or international, are covered against damage or theft for 180 days from the date of purchase (90 days for purchases made outside Mitsukoshi Isetan Group department stores), up to ¥3 million annually. Examples include dropping and breaking newly purchased tableware on the way home, or having a newly bought handbag stolen. This provides reassuring shopping protection.

Services beyond shopping are also comprehensive. Enjoy complimentary access to lounges at major domestic airports, including Haneda and Narita, as well as affiliated airports overseas. At the Haneda Airport International Terminal, you can use the Sky Lounge B for airlines with one accompanying guest, free of charge. Furthermore, when travel expenses are paid with the Gold Card, you are covered by travel insurance, offering up to ¥100 million for death or permanent disability due to injury during overseas travel (up to ¥50 million for domestic travel). This applies to both the primary cardholder and family card members.
