A New Creation by Olga Fusari, a Bolgheri Expert Dedicated to Quality
Ruffino, an indispensable name in the history of Italian wine, has embarked on a new challenge with the announcement of Garzaia, its top-tier Bolgheri wine.

Founded in 1877, Ruffino is a leading Tuscan winery that has driven the development of Chianti Classico. Today, it operates in 83 countries worldwide and is recognized as a representative Italian brand for its wine production that blends tradition and innovation.
The newly released "Garzaia Bolgheri Superiore DOC" serves as Ruffino's flagship Bolgheri wine.

Bolgheri is a region renowned for producing powerful, full-bodied wines using international varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, unbound by the strict regulations of Italian wine law. It is often called the "holy land of Super Tuscans."
Garzaia is produced exclusively from Ruffino's estate vineyards, specifically from two plots, Le Sondraie and Le Bocce, totaling 15 hectares along the Bolgheri road.

The wine's name, "Garzaia," refers to a place where herons nest in colonies. It symbolizes the harmonious coexistence of nature, where land and water meet, and the "spirit of the land" deeply rooted in Bolgheri's history and landscape.
The blend is primarily 70% Cabernet Franc, complemented by Merlot to add softness and roundness. The 2023 vintage benefited from stable weather throughout the season, with late summer rains providing ideal moisture for the grapes, allowing for slow and perfect maturation.
Winemaker Olga Fusari, with her profound knowledge of Bolgheri, meticulously focused on quality to craft this wine. She commented, "Bringing a new project to fruition is a special moment in any winemaker's career. I hope that everyone who tastes Garzaia can feel this passion."
The birth of Garzaia marks a further evolution in Ruffino's journey, which has pursued the "highest standards of Tuscany" for nearly 150 years. In Japan, it is distributed by Pieroth Japan, a company specializing in the sale of carefully selected wines from around the world.
