EAT | Communicating Local Charm Through Regional Culture, Nature, and Cuisine

DINING OUT SPECIAL SHOWCASE with LEXUS: First-Ever Tokyo Event

The regional revitalization project “DINING OUT” aims to invigorate local economies by reinterpreting the beautiful nature, traditional culture, history, and local produce of Japan’s regions as new value. For four days only, from Saturday, February 21st to Sunday, March 1st, a showcase event bringing together the charms of various regions will be held in Tokyo for the first time.

A Premium Outdoor Restaurant, Open for Just a Few Days Somewhere in Japan

“DINING OUT” is a project that discovers and values new regional attractions unique to each area. It invites prominent creators as partners for each project to derive original concepts that become new regional value from the area's unique nature, traditional culture, and history, and then establishes temporary outdoor restaurants in symbolic locations to embody these concepts. Top chefs create dishes using local ingredients, presented with unique staging tailored to the concept.

In this event, titled “DINING OUT SPECIAL SHOWCASE,” chefs who have participated in DINING OUT events in four previous regions gather in Tokyo to recreate the regional charm through food. Shohei Shimono of “A Nu, l'autre vie” in Hiroo, Lionel Beccat of “ESqUISSE” in Ginza, Yoshiaki Takazawa of “TAKAZAWA” in Akasaka, and Hajime Yoneda of “HAJIME” in Osaka—four young leaders in gastronomy gaining global attention—will each present original course menus using seasonal ingredients from Yaeyama, Takeda, Sado, and Iya.

The venue is “INTERSECT BY LEXUS TOKYO,” LEXUS's brand communication space, which supports the DINING OUT project. This marks the project's first-ever event in Tokyo.
