René Redzepi and His Entire Kitchen Staff Visit Japan
World's 50 Best RestaurantsNoma, which has won the top spot four times previously in the World's 50 Best Restaurants rankings, is a restaurant helmed by chef René Redzepi. In its home country of Denmark, it occupies a converted 18th-century warehouse on the Copenhagen waterfront, offering its culinary creations at just eleven tables.
The tasting menu, comprising around 20 courses that creatively express local, seasonal ingredients, has captivated many gourmands and earned the restaurant a global reputation as one of the hardest reservations to secure.
René Redzepi has long expressed a keen interest in Japanese cuisine and exceptional food from Japan, and has harbored a desire to cook in Japan. For this pop-up, the restaurant in Denmark will close temporarily. Redzepi, along with his entire kitchen staff, will travel from Copenhagen to Japan, transforming Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo's French fine-dining restaurant Signature into a temporary restaurant, Noma.
Both lunch and dinner will feature a course menu priced at ¥42,120. Reservations will open on the website starting Monday, June 23rd. Lunch can only be booked through Noma's website. For dinner, Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo's website will offer the 'Noma at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo' package, which includes a two-night stay with dinner for two. Additionally, a limited number of seats will be available each day through Noma's website for those not booking the accommodation package.
The encounter between the world's best restaurant and Japanese ingredients. We want to experience this miraculous collaboration that will surely be spoken of for generations to come.
