Food Collaborates with Acclaimed Chef Akira Shingu

WASHIO, which has primarily operated wholesale, has opened "stopover tokyo" to directly communicate its brand world and vision to consumers.

The first floor houses the international cafe-restaurant "stopover tokyo lounge," the second floor features the concept shop "stopover tokyo library," and WASHIO's head office, "stopover tokyo office," is also established.

The "stopover tokyo lounge" operates under the theme of a "traveling restaurant." With Akira Shingu, the celebrated chef behind Thai restaurants "CAY" and "TAHITI," as its master chef, the lounge offers a menu of international cuisine—Thai, French, Mexican, and more—centered on the keyword "Isn't it good if it's delicious?" Offerings include a special airline-inspired lunch available only on Saturdays and an evening combo for counter seats on weekday nights.

At the "stopover tokyo library," customers can purchase items from WASHIO's three in-house brands, as well as curated goods such as candles and socks. A library featuring over 2,000 books and magazines, collected by Noriaki Washio, the representative of WASHIO, is also available for browsing within the store.

In a unique collaboration between the lounge and library, custom wedding dresses and all-inclusive wedding party packages are offered. The staff uniforms from the lounge, available for purchase in the library, are another novel approach. We invite you to stop by and experience this unique space.
