Cafe Restaurant "Rensa" Opens in Nihonbashi Odenmacho

Nihonbashi Odenmacho, one of the oldest towns in Edo with over 400 years of history, is now home to a new cafe restaurant, "Rensa." The first floor of a 50-year-old building, formerly used as a kimono showroom, has been renovated and reborn.

Dishes That Cherish the Connections Leading to Delicious Food

The creative direction for the restaurant was handled by Ichiro Higashizumi, and the food direction by Hiroko Mihara of Nanpu Shokudo. To embody this concept, the ingredients are fresh vegetables and rice harvested from their own farm and from partner farms across the country. The dishes, which re-examine the vegetables delivered daily from farmers and combine them with meat, beans, and dried foods, reflect discoveries made through repeated refinement of basic, everyday menus. A hallmark is the extra touch and care put into each dish; seasonings and juices are made by hand whenever possible, and new side dishes and teas have been developed.

Lunch offers gentle, nourishing menus rich in vegetables, while dinner expands the variety with dishes featuring surprising combinations. You'll find yourself reaching for a drink before you know it.

The location in Nihonbashi Odenmacho, the atmosphere of the renovated building, and the warm interior are also part of its charm. Not only the food, but the tasteful space itself is captivating.
