Monthly An Paste: June Features "Black Sesame and Honey"
Toraya Café, established in 2003 at Roppongi Hills, is an offshoot of Toraya, a venerable wagashi (Japanese confectionery) maker with approximately 480 years of history, originating in Kyoto. Currently, in addition to the Roppongi Hills store, there are three locations: Omotesando Hills and Aoyama. The cafe is celebrated for its innovative sweets crafted with Toraya's signature an (sweet bean paste).
One of the signature items at Toraya Café, the "An Paste," initially offered in two flavors, "koshian" (smooth bean paste) and "caramel," is now available as "Monthly An Paste" until February of next year. In June, the flavor is "Black Sesame and Honey," followed by "Vanilla and Lemon" in July, offering a diverse range of tastes.
To mark this 10th anniversary, a special limited-edition "An Paste" (koshian) featuring a crown motif, symbolizing "commemoration" and "inheritance," is also being released. Alongside the "Monthly An Paste," these special offerings will be available at Toraya Café locations, the online shop, and TORAYA TOKYO, which opened in October at the Tokyo Station Hotel. They are perfect for ordering online or as a thoughtful gift.
At the three Toraya Café locations, the limited-time menu item "Caramel Banana Anmitsu" is available until July 1st (Monday). This refreshing dessert features two types of kanten (agar jelly) – plain and ginger-infused – topped with an paste, caramel yokan (sweet bean jelly), banana, and okoshi (a type of rice cracker), sprinkled with red peas. Diners can choose between two syrup options: a light lemon white syrup or a rich caramel black syrup. White shiratama (mochi balls) and soy milk ice cream are also available as toppings.
Toraya Café is adorned with 10th-anniversary crown motifs throughout its spaces. We invite you to experience these special flavors, available only during this celebratory period.
