Rediscover Japan's Charms While Enjoying Time Travel
To enjoy life without strictly separating work and private time──With that in mind, the app magazine "japan jikkan," packed with content to pique the curiosity of Japanese readers, will launch on August 18th, distributed by NTT Docomo.
The editor-in-chief and creative director is Lucas B.B., representative of Neeh High Media Japan, who has been involved in numerous magazine edits since arriving in Japan in 1993 and is active in a wide range of fields, including producing events for the "PAPERSKY Tour de Nippon" project, which re-explores Japan.
Various topics touching on the culture, traditions, and spirit nurtured in Japan are introduced through photography, video, sound, and design, presented from three perspectives: "PAST," "PRESENT," and "FUTURE." Each issue, along with articles, allows users to enjoy imagery and sounds on their tablets and smartphones.
The theme for the inaugural issue, distributed on August 18th, is "sora-iro = sky blue," a traditional Japanese color, and the sound of "Suikinkutsu" (a type of underground water-jar musical instrument), which washes the soul. We hope to rediscover Japan's new charms while enjoying time travel as proposed by Lucas.
