From 'Star Wars' to 'Oldboy'
How Were Those Masterpiece Films Drawn?—A unique compendium, featuring only storyboards, has been created to unravel such questions.
Completed with the cooperation of Lucasfilm, American Zoetrope, and others, this book presents 43 featured films, organized into nine themes ranging from 'Menzies, Dalí, Hitchcock' and 'Hollywood's Golden Age' to 'A New Wave in American Filmmaking' and '21st Century Art.' Opening its pages reveals storyboards from the master Saul Bass, from Guillermo del Toro's dedicated storyboard artists, and even from directors Martin Scorsese and Terry Gilliam themselves.
In addition, the book showcases storyboards that film fans would long to see, including 'Star Wars' (1977), Akira Kurosawa's 'Ran' (1985), 'Amélie' (2001), and 'Oldboy' (2003).
With detailed commentary, the 'World Masterpiece Film Storyboard Compendium' unlocks the secrets behind the creation of cinematic masterpieces. Its rarity, with only 3,000 copies printed, makes it an essential volume for those involved in, or aspiring to be involved in, the world of film.
