A Space for Delivering "High-Quality Works"
"81BOOKS" was established adjacent to a design office, renovated from a room in an old building in Nakameguro. The aim is to produce high-quality works by leveraging the unique designs of its in-house designers, at a lower cost than self-publishing and distinct from the self-produced "ZINE" style of production.
Its key features are the use of offset printing with online submission, enabling higher print quality at a lower cost. Furthermore, by having designers collaborate with artists on production, it reduces the artists' burden while enhancing the overall quality of the art collection itself.
The price for producing 500 copies of an A4-sized, 32-page art collection, including design and printing, starts at approximately 150,000 yen. The pricing reflects a desire to create an environment where creators can freely share their work with the world by lowering production costs. Sales will be available both in-store and online.
"81BOOKS" serves not only as a platform for artists to present their work but also as a potential venue for discovering new talent. It marks the arrival of a new space that makes creating and purchasing art collections more accessible and familiar.
