Humor and Heartwarming Moments Captured in One Volume
Erika Omiya, known for her wide-ranging activities including directing and essay writing, finds new power in words through installations of words and forms. On the other hand, Masashi Asada, who won the 34th Kimura Ihei Photography Award for his photo collection 'Asada Family,' where his four family members posed as various professionals and characters, continues to capture the ultimate family portraits.
Both artists are popular among people of all ages and genders. This book is a reconfigured version of the exhibition held at Parco Museum in 2013 as part of the 'Shibuya Parco 40th Anniversary Exhibition: Shibupal Exhibition.'
Titled "A Serious Match of Words and Photos," the book follows a turn-based "match" format where Asada takes photos in response to Omiya's words, and Omiya writes words in response to Asada's photos. Within this "battle," moments of humor and poignancy are interspersed, creating a unique world where the dialogue between their sensibilities merges into one.
Moments where words and photos engage in a delicate dance. We invite you to savor this novel experience.
