Approximately 60 Titles, From New Releases to Masterpieces
POST is a popular bookstore with a unique, evolving style, where its entire selection of books is replaced periodically. It has introduced publishers from around the world, known for their dedicated approach to bookmaking, to Japan, and has handled numerous rare books that are difficult to obtain in the country.
For its 13th featured theme, POST has chosen Aperture, a New York foundation established in 1952 that has operated as a hub for the photography community, managing projects related to production, publishing, and photography programs, and disseminating them both domestically and internationally.
Aperture publishes 12 to 15 photography books annually, ranging from classic to contemporary works, while also focusing on digital programs. Its activities include the "Aperture Magazine," exhibitions at its gallery space in New York, the release of "The PhotoBook Review" twice a year, and the establishment of an annual portfolio award and a photobook award at Paris Photo, demonstrating a wide range of initiatives.
In addition to these activities, Aperture hosts numerous events such as workshops, talk events, lectures, and book signings. It not only publishes books but also connects communities of photography enthusiasts, conveying the allure of photography.
This feature presents approximately 60 titles, from the latest releases this autumn to well-known masterpieces in the history of photography. Visitors can experience Aperture's history, its philosophy, and the broader appeal of photography firsthand by engaging with the books.
