Introducing IMA, a Magazine for Savouring Photography

Amana Holdings, known for its stock photo site "amanaimages," has launched "IMA," a magazine dedicated to the slow enjoyment of photography.

Text by YANAKA Tomomi

Debut Issue Features "Family"

Japan is often called a camera-loving nation. With a digital camera penetration rate exceeding 70 percent of the population and an estimated 30 million photography enthusiasts, the reality is that few truly engage in the deeper enjoyment of viewing, critiquing, or discussing photographs. To foster a more profound appreciation for photography, the magazine "IMA" has been launched, with Mutsumi Ota, who has extensive experience in magazines and art projects, serving as editorial director.

Under the theme "LIVING WITH PHOTOGRAPHY," IMA introduces domestic and international works on high-quality paper to convey the beauty of photography. Furthermore, it aims to be a platform that conveys the fascination of photography by presenting its history and the latest global information, while also leveraging its website (http://imaonline.jp) and events.
