As part of its 70th-anniversary initiatives, Magazine House has revived 'relax,' a magazine that spearheaded the cafe boom and street culture of the 2000s with its unique editorial perspective, in collaboration with SUBARU LEGACY. A Slightly More Mature 'Relax Boy' Appears
The 'relax supported by LEGACY Special Reprint Project,' launched last year as part of Magazine House's 70th-anniversary celebrations, culminated in the release of the first reprint issue of 'relax' in bookstores on February 25, 2016. Many may have held the new issue in their hands for the first time in a decade.
SUBARU LEGACY collaborated on this project. The reprint issue featured a collaboration in the form of papercraft. These papercraft models can also be downloaded from the special website.http://www.relax-legacy.jpYou can get templates for the 'LEGACY B4' and 'LEGACY OUTBACK'.
Furthermore, a campaign is underway encouraging users to assemble these papercraft models, design them, and post their creations on social media like Twitter with the hashtag '#紙レガシィ' (PaperLegacy).
The Special Reprint Issue of 'relax'
What we're introducing today is the special movie, created using these papercraft models through stop-motion animation by the staff of the 'relax supported by LEGACY Special Reprint Project'.Special MovieThis movie is already creating a buzz.
In the movie, buildings and mountains are crafted in a diorama style using back issues of 'relax.' The set, which reportedly used about 600 issues, is of impressive scale.
Furthermore, the nostalgic 'RELAX BOY' and his friends make an appearance, along with a collaborative character named Mr. Legacy. While charming, it embodies 'relax's' characteristic conscious culture and evokes nostalgia for its former readers.
