Original Bottle Cases Expressing "Moments"
The Peninsula Tokyo will release the second edition of its "Artist Collaboration Edition" of the hotel's original whisky, "The Peninsula Tokyo Single Malt Komagatake," in January 2023. In collaboration with Satoru Aoyama, who depicts "ever-changing daily life" through embroidery with an industrial sewing machine, artistic bottles will be sold.

Capturing Unforgettable Moments and Social Issues
The "Artist Collaboration Edition" project was launched by The Peninsula Tokyo in 2022. Under the coordination of art producer Mika Ri, two artists expected to achieve international acclaim are selected each year. Inspired by the experience and senses born from the long history and tradition that began with The Peninsula Hong Kong in 1928, this project allows artists to freely adorn whisky bottles in their own style, expressing them as collaborative works.
The first edition was a collaboration with Takumi Hasegawa, an architect who also works in stage design and as an artist, released in September 2022. For the second edition, a collaboration with artist Satoru Aoyama has been decided. Aoyama is an artist whose works, depicting "ever-changing daily life" through embroidery with an industrial sewing machine, have garnered attention.

The theme for the embroidery works in this collaboration is "Moments." In addition to "Peninsula Moments," which capture unforgettable moments and experiences felt by Aoyama himself during his stay at The Peninsula Tokyo, a total of eight works have been created, expressing the "moments" of the present while also conveying concerns about climate change and ongoing conflicts.
These unique whisky bottle cases feature an embroidered artwork in a frame attached to a barrel box made from whisky casks. They can be displayed as a box or the artwork can be removed and hung on a wall.

Peninsula Experience 1
A "Peninsula Moment" capturing a family's time in a suite at The Peninsula Tokyo. The embroidery is detailed, featuring the view from the window, the interior, and clothing.

Global Warming Clock (The Peninsula Tokyo Ver.)
A work advocating for the issue of climate change. A clock moving at eight times the normal speed over the Earth indicates that the time remaining for us to protect the planet is running out.
In addition to the above, five other pieces will be sold, themed around The Peninsula Hotels' icons such as the Pageboy, Rolls-Royce, and aircraft.
The hotel's original whisky, "The Peninsula Tokyo Single Malt Komagatake," is a special selection of a single cask chosen by the hotel staff from aged malt whiskies nurtured by the pure water and cool climate at the foot of the Japanese Alps, at Mars Shinshu Distillery. It is a popular item not only among connoisseurs but also as a gift, presented in bottles and boxes bearing the hotel logo. For this special edition, a bottling from 2019 has been prepared.
The Peninsula Hotels believes that art, like the connections forged with guests through the experiences and senses cultivated by its long history and tradition, is a comprehensive and universal language. They aim to create many such art projects to bring moments of joy and smiles to guests encountering art at the hotel.
