D[diː]'s Latest Solo Exhibition: "The Pretty ASCENSION “S”"

A solo exhibition, "The Pretty ASCENSION "S"", by D[diː], who is active as a writer, illustrator, and contemporary artist. It will be held from Saturday, March 7th to Sunday, March 29th at TAV GALLERY in Asagaya, as part of "Pureism International Exhibition Asagaya Art Street 2015," the largest urban regional art event in Japan.

Exhibition Features New Works Adorned with Floral Motifs on Occult Themes

D[diː] debuted in 2000 while attending Tama Art University, and has since created works characterized by a sharp observational eye, lyrical prose, and an original worldview. Her activities are remarkably diverse, spanning novels, manga, illustrations, design, fashion, and even picture books.

In conjunction with the art event "Pureism International Exhibition Asagaya Art Street 2015," which features over 100 participating artists and is being held in Asagaya, D[diː]'s solo exhibition "The Pretty ASCENSION "S"" will take place.

This exhibition, titled "ASCENSION," refers to Christ's ascension or journey to heaven in Christianity, or "dimensional ascent" in science fiction. D[diː] has selected and presented new works that use floral motifs to "prettify" occult subjects, which she considers figures for approaching "ascension." The venue will also feature product sales.

D[diː] states, "The concept of ascension is the ultimate peace, the destination we should aim for." Her unique world will welcome visitors to Asagaya.
