Opening Party on the First Day
Kubota, currently active in men's fashion magazines and advertising, was born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1969. After graduating from the Department of Photography at Nihon University College of Art in 1992, he joined Urban Publicity (nowamana). Since 1999, he has been affiliated with Owl and has been active in a wide range of fields.
Inspired by Erik Satie's "Furniture Music," Kubota launched his unique photographic project "Picture Furniture" in 2009. With a desire to capture photographs that are timeless and unobtrusive, he has created works that express a world where "impact" is subtly kept at bay, rendered in a white tone. These pieces will be presented at the hotel and residence in Roppongi. An opening party will also be held on the first day, Thursday, May 1st, from 7:00 PM.
Furthermore, a completely new endeavor, embodying "Picture Furniture," is set to be unveiled at this exhibition. In collaboration with Cado, a company that manufactures and sells air purifiers and humidifiers, the chair artwork "Shape the (ch)air." has been created.
Mr. Takeshi Suzuki, Creative Director at Cado, commented on this collaboration: "Kubota's photographs are endlessly engaging. I find a fascinating depth that shifts depending on the viewing angle or the day. This resonates deeply with the universality of design that I always strive for. Through this project, we propose 'Shape the (ch)air.' as a design expression via photography, and we invite you to anticipate an intriguing collaboration of image and form, blending both novelty and timelessness."
