Following its world premiere at YCAM, the work will tour globally, beginning in France

Ryoji Ikeda, born in Gifu Prefecture in 1966, has captivated the world with his cutting-edge electronic sound and installations. He is an artist who pursues the fundamental characteristics of sound itself and light as the essence of visuals, from both mathematical precision and aesthetic perspectives. Currently based in Paris, he is active worldwide.

This is the third commission in YCAM's new commissioned works series. 'supersymmetry,' premiering worldwide, is a significantly updated and entirely reconceptualized installation version of the performance piece 'superposition,' which was first performed as part of Festival d'Automne à Paris 2012 at the Centre Pompidou. Developed during a residency at YCAM, it interprets quantum mechanics and quantum information theory from an aesthetic viewpoint, unfolding as a new installation that pushes the boundaries of Ikeda's signature data-driven expression.

Additionally, a live performance, 'supercodex [live set],' will be held on Saturday, April 19th. This will feature the live set from 'supercodex,' released by Ikeda in 2013 after a five-year hiatus.

'supersymmetry,' which is scheduled to tour the world starting in France after its premiere at YCAM, is a work by the globally acclaimed artist Ryoji Ikeda that freely traverses sound and vision.
